Upgrading my PC

Hi, Im currently in the planing process for upgrading my PC not all components are changing. Im currently at University in Australia doing digital media wanting to become a VFX artist so storage is needed with the file size of projects im going to be getting next year. any input will be taken on board.

What i currently have is a
Case: HAF 922
MB: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3R-B3
PSU: 1000W Cooler master silent pro gold (I know its over the top was planning a SLI rig at the time)
GPU: Asus 560TI 1GB
RAM: Corsair Dominator 32GB
CPU: Intel i7-2600
CPU Coling: Cosair H80
HDD: 1 x 2TB, 1 x 3TB
SSD 1 x 120GB, 1 X 80GB
OS: Windows 8.1

I'm planing on changing to these components below, just want to know of any issues I might face as I plan to next year got the X99 and DDR4 track when I get more money.
Case: NZXT H440 red/Black
GPU: Asus strix GTX 970
HDD: (In addition to current rig) 2 x 3TB raid 1

I'm not 100% on the case but it is the style and size of case I'm after and if the GPU will fit (measurements on sits say it should just fit) this computer will be used for 3D work, Rendering and gaming. any advice on changes would be helpful, and thanks for reading.

Seem like a solid plan to me, your PSU will be overkill for almost anything you can do anyway... Since you have so many HDD and SSD, make sure the case have enough drive bay.

My rig: Intel Core i7 4790k | MSI Z97 PC Mate | GSKILL Ripjaws X 16GB 1866MHz | ADATA Premier SP550 480GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Seagate Barracuda 2TB  | MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 | Thermaltake Versa N21 | Corsair CX550M Semi Modular PSU | AOC G2460PF 144Hz | Logitech G502 | GSKILL Ripjaws KM780  | GAMDIAS HEPHAESTUS V2  PCPartPicker | Old Build Log | New Build Log

H440 has airflow issues from what I hear but it's still decent enough. As for the GPU the Gigabyte G1 Gaming is BY FAR superior to the strix but that's your choice. The HDD's are fine, make sure to get proper HDD's. WD Reds are often used despite being optimized for NAS systems.

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

The GPU is pretty much the only thing that is getting old, A new 970 will do the trick.

You should put the 560ti in the second PCI-e slot and make it a PhysX dedicated card.

My Gaming PC

I might try this. can't wait to get a Asus Strix 970 if anyone had stock...
