Gaming build

Heya again. So I took a boatload of suggestions (all appreciated!) and have been playing around with a potential build. This is what I've come up with so far and I'd like some opinions, particularly on the graphics card. Anything I ought to add or swap out? Budget wise, I can go roughly to 3,500 now. This is also strictly for gaming.

Bump it down to an i5 you only really need 8GB's of ram and get a 980 or 970 instead

Well if you want to wait, im sure there will be a gtx 990 dual gpu card coming out in 2015, doubt you want to though. Don't listen to the people above me that build as is is great.

Why? 295x2 itself draws about 500-600w, and it's always good to have a bit of headroom

Two GTX 980 would only be slightly more expensive and probably significantly faster

But why would he get a 295x2 when he is only gaming a better choice would be a 980/970

I was debating between two GTX 980s and the 295. Another option was running 3 970s. Which would be better for 4k, as that is what I'm shooting for?

Don't buy the first gen NZXT Phantom. It's outdated and has limited front intake.

If you like the Phantom exteriour, have a look at the Phantom 410, 530 or 630 and buy whichever one you can afford.

This is what I put together. I think 3 980 would be better for a longer period of time. Altrough your build is very good, but if you get 295x2 or 2 980 get an i5.

^Nice spec up but total overkill and it doesn't include the $600 dollar monitor, a Windows License and other peripherals :P

I'd suggest two 980's. the triple 970's might be faster but the scaling on 3-way sli is pretty bad and 3 cards are gonna put out a lot of heat / suck a lot of juice even the super efficient 970... And the 980's will run 4k just fine. But you have to consider that driving a 4K display is basically like driving 4*1080p displays which is a heck of a challenge...
