Hi there alihazzi7,

The WD Blue line is our standard line of HDDs. They are quite reliable and should serve you well for games recording. The WD Blue is the newer, improved version of WD Caviar Blue.

I'd recommend the WD Green if you are looking for a really quiet and energy-efficient solution for secondary storage. This meaning, if you have another drive or SSD for your OS, as well as for the programs you're using the most, you could use the Green drive for your pictures, videos, etc.

The WD Black drives, on the other hand, are the ones that WD recommends for gaming and for creative individuals. Thanks to their performance they can improve the loading time while you're playing.

Here is a link with a brief comparison of our HDD lines -- http://wdc.com/en/products/internal/desktop/

Hope this helps, but if you have questions, I'll be around.

Cheers,

Titania_WD
