Just bought this laptop cooling pad

So I just got this laptop cooling pad, and was wondering if there was any way to manually control the fan speeds?

 

It dosent have any side buttons on the pad, and didnt come with any software. 

 

Please do let me know if this is possible

Might be possible to disassemble it and if it uses a 3pin/4pin fan header you could grab a low noise adaptor to reduce the voltage going to it.

If you wanted full manual control then it might be possible to get a variable resistor with a sliding switch in place of the low noise adaptor but I have no idea if these exist

If the cooler does not connect to your laptop at all then no. B)

It does via USB

Not without taking apart the cooler. You could wire in a potentiometer.

That won't work unless the fan inside was made to be controlled by USB as opposed to just having the 5V and ground wires wired up to the connector.

Targus Cool Pad Plus. It sucks ass. I overpayed for it. I'm returning it tomorrow, and getting a Cooler Master NotePal X3, which is better and cheaper
