Planning Final Setup

Spyname149

Hey guys,

So I'm planning my final monitor setup, and I'm kind of stuck on what to set up. I'm using this system for YouTube, gaming, streaming, content creating, and schoolwork. So what I am planning so far is a 3x1 + 1 setup, and the monitors I am thinking of is:

AOC U3477PQU (21:9 3440 x 1440p)

AOC U2868PQU (16:9 3840 x 2160p)

However, I also want a 7680 x 1440 triple monitor for gaming (however this, to be honest, is sort of an option) and for that I would be using 3x AOC Q2770PQU (16:9 2560 x 1440p) ( I don't favour AOC, it's just that they make great budget monitors). Feel free to mix up and take out monitors and do different setups.

For my GPU, I for now have a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970, and later then I will upgrade to 2-Way SLI, however that might change later (more on that later). The problem is that apparently Nvidia Surround doesn't support mixed resolutions.)

Some ideas i had was:

                     [ 21:9 1440p]

[16:9 1440p] [16:9 2160p] [16:9 1440p]

(I wanted this because then I could have a 7680 x 1440p triple monitor on the bottom, however I have no idea how a 4K monitor would be like if the resolution was 1440p)

                     [16:9 2160p]

[16:9 1440p] [21:9 1440p] [16:9 1440p]

(I wanted this because then the 21:9 1440p monitor could become a 16:9 1440p monitor, thus making a 7680 x 1440 setup, but then there would be black bars. so those games that support a resolution of 8560 x 1440p (all bottom monitors on), but not many would support this, especially with my Nvidia surround system (look above))

Also, which of these monitor should I buy first?

Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks so much!

What's the simplified version? And I doubt that 2 970s will run 7680x1440 at a playable fps. On just 1440p they a very strong. And getting a 4k monitor and just using 1440p is a waste imo.

OK, so I have 3 types of display that I want to use;

1. AOC U3477PQU

2. AOC U2868PQU

3. AOC Q2770PQU (optional)

And you can put this in any arrangement you can think of that would make sense compatibility wise. Up to 4 monitors.

7680 x 1440 is 25% harder to run than 4K, so theoretically (if we take frame rates from http://bit.ly/1rK9DC6 and http://bit.ly/1ppme8J) then that would mean that on 970 2-Way SLI:

Hitman: Absolution: 38.4 FPS

Bioshock Infinite: 47.2 FPS

MOH - WF: 36 FPS

Tomb Raider: 52.8 FPS

Metro: Last Light: 32 FPS

Crysis 3: 24.8 FPS

Thief: 32 FPS

And I'm fine with lower details, so rising the frame rates is possible.

The results were originally 4K but I divided them by 1.25 to compensate for the 25% hardness of 7680 x 1440. Which where the results I posted on here. I said any combination and any number of monitors, but up to 4 monitors.
