Apevia x-hermes

Braadkuiken

I am thinking about getting the apevia x-hermes mid tower case (the red version, but that is irrelevant), I do know that it fits my price and appearance requirements but I am not sure if it has good airflow, structure and cable management. Does anyone have any helpful reviews/tips about this particular case?

Thanks in advance :)

It looks awful and the airflow looks like it will be terrible too

Not the best unboxing video but its the only one i can find. Here are some things that I've noticed from it:

  1. Weak packaging hard foam.
  2. No dust filters
  3. Only one mount for front intake fans which is restricted by the hard bays.
  4. I think there's only mounts for 120 fans.
  5. No idea how the 5 fans it comes with performs.

Since he never opened the other side on the video, I'll assume that the cable management at the back should be decent with all those holes and tie points. How much is the case and your budget? And hat are you looking for at a case exactly?

This case is about 60USD and I don't really have a budget limit, though I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a case. I am mostly looking for some kind of black case (I guess some kind of industrial look) with a side panel which looks good (though that is a really subjective thing, so kind of hard to get recommendations on that) and I also want good airflow and cable management capabilities.

Also... I don't really care about the driver bays at all as long as I can fit at least one HDD and one SSD in there

The NZXT s340 comes in black, is about 70USD and meets your requirements pretty nicely I think.

I don't think the Apevia X Hermes has any mounts for an SSD (although you can just use velcro or double adhesive tape), and the fan being restricted by the hard disk bays = less air going to your other components.

Front panel doesn't really seem great to me for airflow, do quite like the side panel though

The raidmax cobra z has somewhat caught my eye, any knowledge on that one?

The top and bottom of the front panel has holes in which the fans can suck airs from.

Does this come with other colors? I think this will look really well with Gigabyte's g1 sniper mobo and an nvidia reference card (that usb3 connector tho). It's a pretty decent case, you can put fans on the top and bottom as intake but you'll have some issues with dust (like most budget cases). Against the Hermes I'll pick this case.

I say s340, enthoo luxe/pro, Silverstone raven series, or nzxt phantom series is better.

the regular cobra comes in 5 colors according to their website: http://raidmax.businesscatalyst.com/COBRA.html

there is also the cobra z which comes in 2 colors: http://raidmax.businesscatalyst.com/COBRA-Z.html

Personally leaning towards the cobra z more, as I want the red variant, but don't want that eye-catching red front panel

Would the airflow be any good in that case?

Well not sure what I really like, but if you look at that apevia and raidmax I mentioned... they should sort of let you know what I like

Not sure how I would describe it in words you know
