Budget Media PC

C_Mike
So i'm thinking of building a small media PC/Streaming PC, and I want it to be as cheap as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the best Price:performance. Will 2GB of RAM be enough for a Linux based media PC, or should I stick with 4GB? Will the processor I've selected be enough for streaming games from my Gaming PC as well?(if not then it doesn't matter)

Thanks

Jump straight to 4GB, it's a very small price different and it's worth it, specially if the GPU is going to take part of the memory to work.

A standard ATX PSU won't fit the SG05BB-Lite, it needs to be a SFF PSU.

Get the AMD 5350, really the graphics are much better, I've heard reports of the much lower graphics of CPUs like the 3850 are having problems with stuff like 1080p streaming over the network.

That CPU has intergrated graphics...

What. Yes to the 4GB, but no the pentium. APU intergrated graphics are 10-fold better, yes he doesn't have an APU in that build. But an APU over a pentium any day.

Video decoding will be better on the Pentium as well as performance in everyday things. The processor in there at the moment is more of a Linux affair rather than a Windows one

So I've changed to the 5350, and switched the case to the Cooler Master Elite 120, which I believe supports ATX PSUs, but correct me if i'm wrong, Also  changed the Mobo to one with USB 3.0 headers
