75c cpu temp while folding

I have f@h to run at full when idle, but when folding, my cpu temp get up to 75-80c. Is this safe for long periods of time? Should I remove my overclock?

Specs in sig. Thanks

I would lower your OC a little bit. Or buy a cheap Cooler :)

80C is safe for 24/7 use. Just don't let it go above 85C

hyper 212 evo is $30 but you can probably find it used or on sale for $20 or less.

yeah, i know about the evo, but i am trying to save up for a graphics card, and was hoping for something a little cheaper. (i have looked around and can't find a hyper 212(plus or evo) for less than $30 counting shipping, even used)

how well will the hyper tx3 perform compared the the evo?

Not that much worse. Kept my CPU cool, and it had a higher TDP (basically a 90 watt CPU, since it was a Sempron 145 with both of the cores going).

Your temp seems a little too high for comfort, but honestly I've heard of people running right up to 95C for months on end without any problems. I've also never heard of a chip failure, either. So take that for what it's worth.

Running a CPU at 75C is fine, if you want better temps I would recommend picking up a 212EVO, I am not sure about other alternatives to the 212  btu ZI would buy it because it is tried and tested.
