Western Digital HDD and Samsung SSD

Hello everyone, I'd like to hear your opinions on this. For my build I'll get a WD 2TB Black and 128 GB Samsung Pro SSD. What do you think about them? I'm going to use my PC for gaming. And is Western Digital reliable in terms of HDD longevity? Also is Samsung a good SSD brand? Thank you :D

Yes, that's a very good choice, but look at Samsung EVO's, they're cheaper than Pro's :D Unless you want that warranty :)

Samsung SSDs can be good, just don't get the evo. For now at least.

For mechanical drives WD or Seagate, doesn't really matter.

I have 3 x 1tb Western Digital HDD and 2x 2tb Western Digital External HDDs .

The 3x 1tb drives have been in use for 3 years and still no issues, they all have over a year online time. (they were also the cheapest 1tb drives)

The 2x 2tb drives are also in use around 7 hours a day and 1 of those drives is still working 100% after 2 years, and the other drive is a replacement given to me by WD as my 1st WD drive died 10 days before the warranty ended, and that was in use every day for 2 years.

All my future HDD's will be Western Digital as they have proven to be very reliable.

I also have a Samsung 840 Evo (had it for 9 months) and already written 8.5TB to it, and it is still as fast as when I first got it, never had a single issue. From pressing on to opening google chrome is around 10 seconds. I have also formatted it 6 times, as I like to keep my OS drive clean.

I would pick Western Digital for hard drives EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I would pick Samsung for Solid State Drives EVERY SINGLE TIME.

If you have any questions for me feel free to ask :D

Crucial MX100 is cheaper, and the 256GB version is about the same price as the 128GB Samsung 840/850 Pro.

The WD Blacks are overpriced.

With some excessive thinking I think I'll go with the Samsung 840 250GB EVO instead of the pro. And I'll get the WD 2TB Black! Thank you for all your help :D
