did invidia skip the 800 series or what because the gtx 980 and 970 are out and i think the other ones are coming out later so ... am i just straight up missing a line of products or what ?

They skipped the 800 series because the mobile version already had the 800 series (Makes no sense seeing as we have a 700 series in both desktop and mobile but eh, Nvidia doesn't always make sense :P)

Yeah, NVIDIA skipped the 800 series. So it wouldn't confuse people.

They skipped the 800, indeed. The only 800 series was a rebrand for laptop chips.

nVidia skipped the 800 series for desktop parts... There are 800 series GPUs on mobile devices and NUCs...

as you just said, mobile will probably get the 900 series now, mobile should always be on the same or one after the desktop, would be strange if we a year later finally got laptop gpus :P

There are a few 700m chips

The 800 series were graphics cards for laptops.  To make it less confusing, they just named the new cards the 900 series, so people wouldn't think they'd have a desktop-grade graphics card in their laptops.

kind of, there are 800 series for laptops, not desktops. and (i think) now they run together, or if they dont yet, will soon.
