Is the Intel CPU using the integrated graphics?

If so I'd get the AMD as I don't think the Haswell GT1 on the Pentium can play the games very well.

oh sorry i forgot to indicate I'll be putting the dual MSI R7850 Power Edition 2GB/OC

i would suggest you take the pentium, for its higher IPC (good for games) even though it has lesser GPU, and then save up for a while, and get a midrange gpu as well (r7 265/gtx 750ti)

in that case, take the pentium, the GPU in the APU serves you no purpouse

g3258 then I guess, although I'll admit I felt I had a better gaming experience with my old 5600k + gpu than my g3258 with the same gpu, but I was playing bf4 and watch dogs a bit back then.

AMD A-series if you're using the integrated graphics, Intel if you're getting a proper graphics card.

Get the Pentium... Overclock it to hell and back and enjoy some performance...

I'd have suggested the A8 if you didn't have any graphics cards...

Go with the AMD 6600k. The Haswell G3258 will not support dual channel memory, basically does not support 1.5v dual channel memory.

this is false information. this RAM can support voltages from 1.25 to 1.85v (not recommended).

please state your source on lack of 1.5 voltage support.

Go with the Intel Pentium G3258 and a decent H81,B87, H97 or Z97 but note that you may need to flash the bios on the 'H' and 'B' series motherboards to get it supported with its overclocking options unlocked, with the G3258 you really do need to overclock it to get the most out of it.

The G3258 does run duel channel or single channel its depends if you have correct dimm slots populated with matching pairs.

Voltages have very little to almost nothing to do with how the memory controller choices to run single, dual or quad channel, the voltages are more to do with stability and timings and the memory controller on Haswell is flipping epic come paired to the AMD as the 2 7800K's that I have personally used will not post if I use memory over 2400MHz where as an G3258 I have used allowed me to dial in 2666MHz right of the bat without any problems.

Do you wanna go fast? I sure do that is why I went Intel

The person you quoted is talking about memory voltages. Not CPU voltages. Memory voltages are usually 1.35 to 1.65V.

CPU voltages are different ball game. Anything from around 0.9 to 1.8V+ is possible.
