ATH-M50's

xrex64

If you have Audio Technica ATH-M50's, what volume do you listen to your music at (on the windows bar). Screen shot or percentage. Mine is about 50%. I want to make sure that's not too much. Thanks.

It varies from person to person. Not one because of the human element, but equipment.

I keep my windows volume at 50% with my Razer Krakens but sometimes just max out my volume when I'm listening to music.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

What are you using to amp your headphones?

I don't have an amp.

that will be drastically different from device to device, but I run at around 60% on most of my devices.

Which is why I mentioned windows.

Uh... What's your mobo lol. Windows is just software, I could set windows to 1 and still hear audio at normal listening volumes if I wanted to.

I'm not really sure, it's something crazy. It's a prebuilt. There's hardly anything about it, but it's a Gigabyte.

Yes but the gain settings, DAC, amp if any. Way too many variables.

You need some type of Amp to USE headphones :P. Motherboards have built-in amps, phones have built-in amps, etc or they wouldn't produce any sound.

The problem here is that the OP doesn't know what his Mobo is so I can't figure out his on-board.

a DAC's output circuitry can put out a strong enough signal for headphones, although it may not be loud enough.
