[Logitech Z506] 5.1 surround not working in Win 8.1

LaboonTheWhale

Hey all

I bought some Logitech z506 speakers for my rig and it worked when I had windows 7 installed but when I installed windows 8.1 recently, my surround sound stopped working.

When I used to go properties of my speakers under "Playback Devices" it would give me the option to go 5.1 surround, but now its not there.

Has anyone had this issue before? or could someone help me figure what the error is?

Edit: I use the onboard audio on my ASUS Crosshair V formula -Z Mobo

Did you plug them in correctly? I have the same speakers on 8.1 and no problems. Try looking at your sound card or realtek interface if possible.

I think i have them plugged in correctly. They worked on Windows 7 in the same set up (green goes to green, orange goes to orange, black goes to black right?) to my onboard audio.

Check your onboard audio interface, make sure it's the latest audio driver.

I just installed the audio drivers off of ASUS' website.

Did you try to set up the audio from the sound card's interface? Not windows.
