Anyone getting Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor?

mustafaali61

on a single 780 3gb with the updated textures enabled and max settings at 1440p i get 50-70 fps(perfect for my swift) just waiting for an official SLI patch since the nvidia inspector tweak has way too much stutter even though i can get over 100 fps

Nope, 6GB VRAM unoptimized requirement ruined it for me along side the gameplay which looks lackluster and easy.

Uh that is super sampled. Don't worry about it. You will look much better than the console versions with 3gb and to be honest probably 2. A 180 dollar R9 280 could play this better than either console and the I7 recommendation is horse @$@%. Saw a benchmark from a guy with a Sandy Bridge I5-2500k and a GTX 970 with 300 highs and a 70 fps average and people say the ports are of Batman quality. Super Sampled ultra textures are what uses 6GB. Selling that as just 1080p is kind of silly. You can downsample 8 k to 1080p but it isn't really just 1080p and the consoles aren't doing any of that..

Just wondering who is getting it or not.

Yeah will prob be grabbing it. It is like skyrim with batman combat from what I have heard. Seems like winner for me. Prob will grab it when WOD World of Warcraft beta ends.

been playing on my i5-2500 and gtx 970. game is butter smooth, constant 60 fps vsync'd. I'd say this is one of the more optimized ports I've played all year.

Still, 3GB for High Textures is a bit much, especially considering they don't look particularly great.

I've seen people with GTX 770's (2gb) saying the game runs fine on high settings. 3gb is a recommendation, not a necessity.

Yeah about 2.5 gigs is the most a console can really allocate towards textures with the 4.5 limit they have on the SDK's after the OS takes it's cut. Add to that a AMD 7770/7790 on the consoles can only push so much anyways. Unless the port absolutely sucks or was damn near purposely sabotaged, 3 GB isn't needed. Just console advertising BS. If you are buying a new GPU? Yeah aim for 3gb, but you are gonna need a card that can run high's anyways and the PS4 might be running one setting on high, but not anything else. The AMD 7770 on the XB1 in GPU power? That POS needed extra attention to pull 1080p on Diablo 3.

Only GPU in kind of a weird place is the GTX 770 with 2GB (which I have) and that is because it could run high's in most of these bad ports if it had more ram. Like you said though, this doesn't appear to be a bad port at all. This fear that we are going to need 4-6 gigs is nonsense. The port would have to be abysmal, and our new API's (when they eventually are used on our ports) have things like tiled resources so it prob won't even be an issue. Until you get close to prob a 770/280 I wouldn't bother worrying about more than 2gb of ram.

I don't know if I'll get it really. It looks like an Assassin's Creed clone to me. Maybe it will have a more interesting story.

I've been watching TotalBiscuit's video, and I think it looks pretty good. I'll probably wait for a sale, but after a year of pretty disappointing releases, this game might be one of its high points.

1250mhz on teh core 1800mhz on the memory

2560x1440 all ultra, motion blur disabled, vsync disabled, high res texture pack installed 2 780s i get 100 fps which is actually being capped even though the fps setting says no limit its still limited >.>

on a single 780 fps is 50-70 average it does drop to like 40-45 in larger battles though

Does this game not have triple buffering? I have vsync on and whenever the frame rate drops even 1 frame below 60 it will go straight down to 30.
