Why can't you just use capture software...?

Console recording maybe.

OP doesn't really give us to much info on what or why. @SirDingleBerry can you let us know.

The original elgato game capture you can get for a good price.

The thing that I like about the Elgato is the software and the hardware work really well together.

If you have the cash then maybe grab the new version HD60. basically the same as the old one but 60FPS capture instead of 30FPS.

You can find cheaper options, but if you serious for streaming or game cap for YT then I would recommend Elgato.

But if you are on PC then look at fraps or OBS.

In that case look into the Elgato Game capture then. the original or the newer HD60
