Favorite/Least Favorite Mass Effect Companions? (Possible spoilers inside)

Scionyde

Tali/Garrus while playing Infiltrator and comparing headshots with Garrus was my favorite for Paragon.

Garrus is the only choice.

Come on people Ashley is Shepard's women how could she not be his favorite companion.

She had the chance to join Shepard against the Collectors, but she failed that loyalty test in my book. :P

But I will admit, I'm a bit surprised she's doing so poorly in the polls. She's not one of my favorites or anything, but I never thought she was that bad.

Ya but that's Bollocks. If I was Shepard I would have been Taping Ashley's ass all day and Miranda at the same time LOL !

I think it's not that Ashley was that bad, but Tali was that good. Tali is the true paragon companion in the story, that is completely altruistic (an argument could be made that Jack is going that way). She just fits paragon Shep. Garrus is Batman who will kill, who is a good counter to paragon Shep as far as banter and whom Shep makes more into Batman. Who doesn't like Batman?

Ashley as a believable character just didn't make much sense. If anyone was going to go the Cerberus route and need a redemption or character growth it would have been Ashley, who is all about humans, yet she is completely opposed to Cerberus (makes no damn sense). The character is just all over the place and doesn't seem realistic. Ashley being Kai Leng would have been awesome (Kai Leng as a character, if you can even him that was a joke, he was more of a caricature). The ME2 scene should have been Ashley being high up in Cerberus and Paragon Shep saying F Cerberus. It is like they said we need to get rid of Ashley for awhile, lets contrive this stupid scene which makes no sense with what we know from Ashley. In 3 you could redeem her or she could redeem herself with a selfless act.

Add to that they sexed up Ashley in 3 and again it just didn't fit the character. Ashley is first and foremost a soldier. It seemed like she had multiple lead writers unlike other characters. Whoever wrote her in 3 sucked.

For those of you who enjoyed the universe of Mass Effect I highly recommend checking out the videos in the below youtube channel by gamermd83

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5E01CEC4FFC3C000

She goes over a large variety of topics about Mass Effect including so much stuff that we have forgotten... it really enhances your appreciation of the universe and reminds you why you loved these games.

Didn't expect I would find these interesting but after listening to a couple of her talks I kept going because I realized she seems to appreciate the same things that I do in games.

I also highly suggest this video to further explore ME lore and story.

Yeah, Tali's pretty great. My playthrough was semi-Renegade Shepard (I couldn't bear to go through with all the renegade options) but I still chose Tali as the romance option for ME2&3.

I think Ashley preferred humans, but in ME1, I think I remember her condemning the Terra Firma party as a bunch of xenophobes, so she didn't hate aliens outright. She's probably just suspicious of them, probably because her family's military history was disgraced by her grandfather's surrendering to Turians during the Contact War. Considering Cerberus' murder of Admiral Kahoku (this only comes up in a side quest in ME1) and her family's tradition of Systems Alliance military service, I can buy her explanation that she doesn't trust Cerberus and wants to stay in the Alliance.

But I will agree that ME3 did a poor job with her character. She doesn't seem to get any more dialogue or characterization, and appearance-wise, she looks more like a porn star than a soldier. (I have a similar issue with EDI's appearance as well).
