Favorite/Least Favorite Mass Effect Companions? (Possible spoilers inside)

Scionyde

So, this weekend I finished my first playthrough of the Mass Effect series (yeah, I know I'm late to the party) and I enjoyed it a lot. A lot of games tend to have throwaway, uninteresting characters, but I think Bioware did a better job than most. That's not to say that there weren't some characters that fell flat(IMO), hence the topic/poll. (You can vote for multiple people)

Which characters did you like/dislike the most? I couldn't include more than 20 options in the poll, so that only left room for one non-combat character. I figured it should go to Joker since he gets the most dialogue.

I think my top 5 for best and worst are...

Best:

Tali'Zorah

Garrus Vakarian

Mordin Solus

Jarvik

Grunt

Worst:

Samara

Kaidan Alenko

Jacob Taylor

James Vega

Miranda Lawson

For some reason I expected everyone to vote for Tali.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

For the best I would say Tali, Wrex, Javik, Grunt, and Garrus.

For the worst my pick is Miranda Lawson.

Tali is cool and funny. But they should not have made quarians look human. They built up that mystique for 3 games and then tell us she looks like a human?

When I played ME3 I did not romance anyone. Just did not feel like it, was focused on more important things (like saving the galaxy).

So the game thought I was gay and Kaiden started hitting on me.

In no particular order:

Liara

Wrex

Tali

Garrus

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Yeah, get on that this instant! :P And The DLC is usually pretty good, even though it sucks that you have to buy them on Bioware's website which never goes on sale...for ME2 Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival are kinda must-haves to understand some of the story in ME3 (and it's best to complete those two DLC missions after the final main storyline mission). Stolen Memories isn't mandatory, but it's nice to add another squad member. Overlord was kinda tedious, and I'd only recommend it if you're a big Mass Effect fan.

If you ever get around to ME3, make sure you get the extended cut version because it clears up a few of the plot holes the original ending had. Also, it'll give you the From Ashes DLC for free so you get Jarvik, who is one of the more interesting characters, IMO. I wouldn't say any of the ME3 DLC aside from the extended cut is mandatory, but they can be useful if you're hurting for war assets. Citadel is the best (and best completed right before the final storyline mission). I think Omega's the second strongest piece of DLC, followed by Leviathan(although Leviathan has more value from a story/lore standpoint).

Yeah, they just photoshopped a Getty stock image, no less.

And then they spent all this time and money making a 3D model of Jessica Chobot for Diana Allers, probably one of the most bland characters who has practically no dialogue, and almost no use to the game at all.... >_<

For those of you who enjoyed the universe of Mass Effect I highly recommend checking out the videos in the below youtube channel by gamermd83

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5E01CEC4FFC3C000

She goes over a large variety of topics about Mass Effect including so much stuff that we have forgotten... it really enhances your appreciation of the universe and reminds you why you loved these games.

Didn't expect I would find these interesting but after listening to a couple of her talks I kept going because I realized she seems to appreciate the same things that I do in games.

Apparently a lot of people agree since he has the highest number of least favorite votes, and 0 favorite votes. xD

I only finished Mass Effect 1 a few weeks ago, but all I can remember about him is that he killed a biotic instructor when he was growing up...and that's about it. You can give a character a backstory with notable events, but it doesn't quite equate to giving them distinct personality traits. I think that's what my problem is with Kaidan and Jacob.

hahaha, can't save the galaxy without some quality time, and when shepherd didn't get his quality time in ME2 he blew up a space station

I dunno man, I played it on PC recently and the photo looked humanoid but the ears, jaw, skin all looked distinctly alien to me

Well I dunno, looking at the original image alongside it, it seems like a rushed photoshop job to me.

But hey, luckily for Shepard, at least she doesn't look like Danny DeVito under that mask. xD
