Router Throttling Modem?

I have a Linksys EA6200 (aka AC900) wireless router. I'm paying for 50Mbps cable internet, but only getting ~20. I ran the network cable from the modem to the computer, bypassing the router, and got, according to speedtest, ~57Mbps (down). I've searched the internet over, and it seems lots of people have the same issue, but nobody's clear on how to fix it. Anyone here having that problem, or know how to fix it?

Speedtest Results:

Modem > Computer : 56.95 Download, 6.21 Upload

Modem > Router > Wireless : 19.75 Down, 6.15 Up

Modem > Router > Wired : 19.63 Down, 6.16 Up

I have actually had a problem just like this recently. I replaced the router and got much better speeds. I don't know if my model was defective but my speeds went from 3-7 down and up to 30-40 down and 10 up. I pay for 50/10 (all speeds in Mbs)

I have 100 mbit Internet now. Download speeds anyway. I only get like 80 on wifi and that's when I'm close to it. If I'm a normal distance I get like 50.

Wireless-AC helps with this, but in general wifi will always be less reliable than a LAN cable. so it's something I just like to have "good enough" and I use my cat 5E/6 for major downloads and stuff :D

I find upgrading to an AC router is useless right now since the majority of my devices are wireless-N.
