It's stunning.

I normally love cards like the gainward phantom but there is something about this card

The reference design looks better. But the Gigabyte backplate is really cool looking.

Btw, the sponsor for today's video have some really cool stuff to offer.

Is this worth the $839 price tag? (Australia). I am going to be doing a red/black build with a H440 and i would like to know.... Would it be better to do two reference 980s in SLI as they are just $699(!)? I know that a setup like that would demolish 1440p gaming. Also what sorta psu would i need? 800W+?

I would do two reference in that case. Reference style coolers are better for SLI because the heat gets exhausted out the back and not in the case.

Thanks for the reply! Would an evga 850W be good for a high oc on the 2 980's?

Thankyou so much for the reply!

Just one last thing, can you recommend a psu apart from the evga 850W that's cheaper but doesn't compromise in reliability/efficiency?

The Evga is 130$ where i live. That is pretty cheap for a full modular 850w of good quality.

I would love to see if Luke could also measure the sound levels when the cards are under loud and mention it if some cards produce a more annoying sound. I heard from other reviews that the G1 produces a more higher pitched sounds which is more annoying than even some noisier cards. For me the efficiency of the cooler while maintaining low noise levels is very important.

I hope to see the EVGA card testet soon and I hope Luke can achieve even better overclocks on that card.

Holy shit 1500mhz + OC on AIR?! 8) Also Nvidia seriously NEEDS to consider making the GEFORCE GTX logo rgb and not only green, which also seriously limits its color coordination with most motherboards. Actually I dont think theres even a SINGLE Z97 / X99 that has a green color scheme on it lol.

Limited colour coordination seems like a silly gripe.

You're supposed to look at the monitor of a gaming computer, not its insides when it's turned on.
