No but srs, get the console that got the exclusives you like and your mates play on. 

 

I have the PS4 and i love it!  ;)

This is the best advice you can get.

 

A friend of mine bought a PS3 some time ago but all his gamer friends were on 360 so he ended up selling the PS3 quite quickly and bought a 360 thus wasting money.

 

So out of all consoles, I would go with PS4 or XBOne just because in the future mainly games will be released there.

I recently bought a boxed Wii with controllers and the other needed stuff for less than 30€ shipped. There are quite a few decent games on the system that hardly anyone knows about.

Ignore the Wii systems, it's literally the exact same franchises and games we've had for 30 years.

Exaggeration. Okami, Dead Space, Resident Evil Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles, Pandora's Tower, Sin and Punishment, Muramasa, MadWorld, No More Heroes, Red Steel, Excite Truck, ...

 

Besides, Games like Metroid, Zelda, Paper Mario and Mario Galaxy don't play like the original NES games at all.

 

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

To OP, a PS3, games will be dirt cheap through EB Games if you don't mind pre-owned, consoles will be pretty cheap
