How to remove FPS Cap

This is a stupid questions, but I honestly don't know. How can I remove my framerate cap? I am using a GTX 760 by EVGA. Much help would be appreciated. I am using Windows 8.1.

Do you have a monitor with a higher refresh rate than 60hz? Is your 760 even putting out more than 60fps?

Where? In Windows or on games? 

 

And if you only have a 60Hz monitor, why would you need more?

Some games actually are capped at 60fps, the first 2 Arkham Games and Sonic Generations are all capped.

 

Usually if there's a cap i place it's because mayhem happens when the game starts to go above that. I know L.A. Noire is one game that completely goes wild if you remove the fps cap.

It's basically an indication that Rockstar doesn't give enough of a damn to properly recode their games to accept higher framerates.

Just like with NFS rivals and DR3 it's an engine issue where they designed the games around lower framerates. "recoding" would take ages but yes, they should do it if they are to release games on this masterful platform.
