Need to back up my SSD

flibberdipper

Alright, so I think I would like to back my SSD up in a way where I can take it out of my netbook and plug it into my grandma's computer (over my USB adapter) and back it up, so that if I ever want to, I can "reinstall" my SSD onto my hard drive. Reason being is that hopefully my SSD will be going to Athena, so... Yeah.

Wait, is Athena your new build? If so, I think it might work. But maybe your programs won't.

next time, put Athena in your sig.

Have you looked into using a program called EaseUs ToDo Backup? It's free and you can get it from here. Just tried it on my USB and it does a full drive/individual partition backup (if you wanna go that way instead), however I haven't tested it on a boot drive. See how you go!

I'm not sure he wants to put the SSD as it is into the other build, but rather back it up to wipe it and install Windows on it for the other build, then if he wants to switch it back to the netbook he can load the old info back on.

At least that is the way I read it?

I was going to use it just for data (250GB EVO is for OS and programs, 120GB EVO is for stuff, and 1TB Barracuda for games and VMs).

And if I wanted to use it, I would just wipe the HDD and use it, even though XP seems stupid fast.
