ROG Themed Build

Hello everyone. I've been following Linus on Youtube for some time now and I've decided to join the forums to get feedback about my first gaming computer build. I have read extensively and consider myself a "theoretical veteran" on tech and other topics. Next year I am moving out and I will be able to afford my desired system. I am ready to make adjustments and changes if need be. All constructive criticism welcome. Alright onto the system.

Main Components

Motherboard - Asus Maximus VII Impact Mini-itx

RAM - Kingston HyperX Fury 16gb (2x8) 1866Mhz Black

GPU - Asus GeForce GTX 980 4gb

PSU - Bitfenix Fury Gold 550w

CPU -  Now guys here I need some help choosing. The choices are:

Intel "Pentium K" Anniversary Edition G3258 - This was my first consideration. It overclocks like mad. Its cheap. And it can perform almost (and sometimes) as well as the other two contenders. I really want to go this one if there is not that much of a gain overclocked with the other two. (now considering i5)

Intel Core i5 4690k Devils Canyon - This is a step up from the G3258 as its a quad core. I would be willing to make this leap if it meant better price/performance. Ofc overclocking is a must.

Intel Core i7 4790k Devils Canyon - The best. Again is it worth price/performance vs the i5 or G3258. I expect the GTX 980 to carry most of the load in the games I play and as much as I am spending on this build I still wish to save those pennies.

You'll want the i5. IDK how a GTX 980 would perform if it was using a Pentium K

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Well if you're going all out, get the 4790k. As for the headphones and keyboard, you might want to take a look at ducky and corsair for the keyboard and ask in the audio thread of a better headphones(There's better headphones at that price range).

My Current PC Codename: Scrapper

If your going for a build like this i would say get an i5

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

Don't get a Pentium with this build, I would say that the i5 is a minimum.

If you are just gaming the i5 will be perfect however if you are doing a lot of video editing as well the i7 will be a worthwhile investment :)

Leaning towards i5 now. As for the other stuff I really want to keep to the colour theme of red and black and I really like the Apex Raw. I have tried many different cherry/mech keyboards owned by friends but I just don't like the feel of it. I also want to reasonably keep within certain number of brands. I don't want each individual part to be a different brand.

Steelseries Sensei is pretty good, I have COD version for almost 1 year and the switches is still like new(I play every weekend @12 hours a day)

and for keyboard and headset I dont recommend you go with SS, they looks cool but  with same budget you can get a audiopile headphones and a mod mic review from linus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVFKbVPTdG8

but you wont get the 16.8 Million of color on your headset though
