Need help shipping a PC please

Hi there, so i recently built a computer for a friend of mine. I Got everything put together installed and ready to get shipped out and i realized i have no idea what precautions to take when it comes to EMC. I was planning to put the computer in the cases box. Then put that on it's side in a larger box filled with padding. But i don't know if any components could be damaged just by being in a box with peanuts ect moving around. The peanuts and cardboard / foam im using doesn't have the anti static coating or materials because they are all plain white. Just wondering if the case alone will protect my mobo cpu ect or should i keep searching online for an anti static bag that fits the size of a case? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd remove the GPU first.

I was thinking of doings this as well. I have the gpu box with it's anti static bag so i can throw that in the bigger box and just make a false floor so the computer doesn't crush it. I just wasn't sure if i could shock the computer just by shipping it without anti static foam or something inside the box it's self. Or if the case negates that happening naturally. I honestly can't find solid information online and most unboxings from companies who build custom computers for people online have the black anti static foam atleast inside there shipping boxes. I can't afford anything to get fried on this. Spent to much on this gift =(

Don't use UPS lol.

I wasn't worried about shipping damage just the static charge that it may or may not get during shipping. I can't find the correct anti static materials to ship it with and im just wondering if the case alone handles that issue. No one online seems to have an answer. Not even the all mighty google!

It should be fine, as long as there is no fabric involved. Once, two of my computers got damaged while moving, because the moving company used a lot of blankets, to protect the furniture. And even though both computers were inside their cardboxes and plastic bags, the rear audio ports still got fried on both machines. Well, could be worse. Same thing happened to my brother, as he transported his PC and his clothing in the trunk. He didn't listen to my warnings, so I was laughing my ass off soon enough. I also got used ram shipped to me, wrapped in toilet paper. Surprisingly, it didn't get any static damage. So I guess paper is fine. But peanuts? I honestly don't know about them. But you can be sure that the case does not protect components from electrostatic, since nothing is grounded...

Also, when I ship computers, I build a support pillar for the gpu (usually with a heavy non-reference cooler). Nothing fancy, just a few layers of cardboard, wrapped in a plastic bag. Held in place by a couple of self adhesive velcros. Helps to prevent damage from being dropped (hopefuly).

Don't use fedEx..

Take a few parts out, GPU, and such.

I'd find open cell foam and a box, and pack it into that trying to snug it as tight as you can.

I had a computer.. and then I let FedEx ship it.
