Hi guys i'm building a system with a i7 4790k and Asus GTX 970 STRIX 4GB, I was wondering if 1080p is good enough for a 24inch monitor? Or will i be able to easily see pixels.

I don't want a smaller monitor and I obviously don't want a bigger monitor.

I will be using this system for editing 1080p video and gaming in BF4 and other demanding games at as high as the settings go where I am happy with the frame rate (Il be getting a 60hz monitor)

I also want to know how well the 970 does in 1440p in BF4

I have a 24" 1080P monitor too, and that's the max I will go tbh. Anything bigger wont look nice anymore, imo

Yes, 1080p is absolutely fine on 24 inch monitors, any bigger than that, then you would want at least 1440p

It's good enough, however you WILL see dem pixels if you have a decent eyesight, If you really want it to be as smooth as possible, for that size and for that gpu, you should go 1440p (but really 1080p is enough). The 970 should do very well at 1440p in bf4.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

1080p is fine at 24" though you could look into getting a 1920x1200 24" monitor which is better

Can you not squeeze a 27" 1440p monitor onto your desk? its way nicer, a 970 should be ok for high (not ultra) 1440p

1080p and 1440p benchmarks are here

I wonder, why did you suggest him 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080?

To the author of thread: Yes 1080p is perfect for 24 inch monitor.

Because 16:10 is an awesome resolution, you get a bigger display without the screen taking up anymore space, it is just a little taller and has a better pixel density

Keep in mind il be gaming, pretty much most of the time but I don't want a TN panel

IPS FTW

That was the cheapest 24" IPS panel I could find on pcpartpicker

Not sure what stores are available in AUS for parts, I would say look at brands LG, Asus, Dell, LG, AOC, BenQ, Ilyama

it depends on how far away you sit from the monitor, at arms length the pixels will be unnoticeable.
