amd fx 6350 vs intel i5 4670k

I'm still putting together a possible list of parts for my pc build and i'm stuck on what cpu to go with. I wanted to know what you guys thought of each cpu their pros and cons and which on would be better to go with.

Thanks

i5.

Not even a contest, not even worth discussion. i5.

4670k all the way!  Its WAY faster!

I'm sorry, but its to the point of no competition.  At least for me.    If it was FX 6350 vs i3 or non overclocked i5, maybe.   But the 4670k is totally the best out of those imo!

Except Haswell is a bit hot, however my hyper 212 evo keeps me 4670k pretty cool at 4.3GHZ

i5, it's faster than the 6350, if you live near a microcenter, you can get a i5 4690k(devil's canyon) for 200 dollars.

Who wins?

I5 WINS

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

so not i have questions about the amd fx 8350 vs a intel i5 4670k from the comparison site you gave me (thanks again for that) It looks like its pretty close between those two. The upside with getting a i5 i could later down the line upgrade to a i7 with the right Mobo. What do you think?

Hmm, I'll have look at that. ;)

Definitely! That'd be your best option IMHO. :)

Again not a competition. Multithreaded performance is about the same, but 99.9% of games and whatever don't use 8 cores. An AMD solution can perform half as well as an Intel in certain scenarios

Keep in mind platform cost, on AMD you'll want to spend a fair amount on a good motherboard to avoid throttling issues and the option to overclock safely.

To get a "max" overclock out of an FX you'd need something like this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wgYVnQ

On Intel this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NK2rYJ

And if you don't care about overclocking...

Intel:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4yVXnQ

AMD:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/m2qkLk

So it's cheaper and faster in both scenarios. And as you've noted offers an upgrade path to an i7 or potentially future Broadwell CPUs.

AM3+ is a dead socket. But if you don't plan on upgrading anytime in the next year or so, get a 6300 and spend the extra money on your graphics card.
