corsair 450D ''not that bad'' case review

givingtnt

ok, so basicly I just build my new computer (yay)

the 450d in my opignion was a great case with plenty of room for my system (just look in my user thigny) with room for more.

it has a quite easy to use magnatic dust filter system.

although it has its issues. first, the front mesh is quite open and gets quite some dust in the front because of the 2 140mm intakes. although it makes for a really good look with the red led AF140 that iv put there. though I found something a little less usefull when I built my system. first, the hdd cages are quite flimzy. they are ok but could (should) have a screw that could hold them more firmly to the front. In addition to this, the toolless bays are quite easy to use. and they also have convinient holes to mount an ssd there. or a 2.5'' hdd and the fact that corsair made them offset to make the sata ports line up behind is would be awesome... if the hdd pin / holder wouldn't block the ssd from getting in position... at least they give you 2 ssd mounts on the back.

as far as cable management goes, well its quite basic with the little tabs on the back to attach cables (around 4-5 of them only)

other than that. at 100$ I would have hoped to see a slightly better case. although the look is amazing.

was it worth it ? more or less. I give it a 8.5 out of 10 for my personal experiencepost-85015-0-32100100-1411427848_thumb.jpost-85015-0-32100100-1411427848_thumb.jpost-85015-0-32100100-1411427848_thumb.jpost-85015-0-32100100-1411427848_thumb.j

  • 2 weeks later...

I actually just bought this same case! I really like it, I'm thinking about taking the drive cage out for better airflow.
