Folder Back ups.

mcmxcii

I was wondering if anyone knew of some software that would automatically back a folder of data up onto another hard drive.
The scenario is that i have a folder full of my photographs and it is getting quite large, I was looking for some software that would sync the two folders so that it only adds and takes away changed/new files. instead of rewriting them all again

eg.

F:///// Photography -------|

                                       |

                                       |---- G://///// Photography_BackUP  (another HDD)

                                       |

                                       |

                                       |---- K://///// Photography_BackUPkaksi    (USB HDD)

So say i changed files in the F: drive then every lets say week, all the new and changed files would be synced with the two other drives, without having to copy and paste the whole mass of data.

I did a quick search of the forum and saw a Program Allways Sync mentioned, Don't know if anyone knows about this program, or has any other solutions, i don't mind paying for the program either, so it doesn't have to be a free solution.

You can always create a .bat file yourself and execute it whenever you want to back something up (or, though somewaht more advanced: have it run automatically every day / week / month / year)

You should be able to find something already existing by googling something similar to "backup via .bat file" - I am not at home, otherwise I would copy the exact parameters needed for the backup, as I have it set up that way for my backups of data.

Will doing that, only move edited or new files, or will it just copy the whole folder of data?

You can set it up eiter way you want, depending on what you want to get out of it.

What do you want then? A separate folder every time you back up with a timestamp, or just one folder that gets filled up with whatever you have in your folder to be backed up?

Each has its benefits.
