Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P motherboard for overclocking?

I am going to build a mid-range budget gaming PC.But i am not sure whether Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P AMD 970 can be reliable!!!! In future i may overclock CPU(4.0-4.5 GHZ),GPU and RAM.I wonder if this board would handle that. And is 500 watt PSU enough for fx6300 to overclock?????

AMD FX6300 3.5GHz
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P AMD 970
Gigabyte N6600C DDR5
Corsair 500CXV2
A DATA 4x2 GB DDR3 1600

@TrxBoy

What kind of games do you play? This is relevant.

It should be good enough for mild overclocks... But I would get gigabyte boards with Ultra Durable branding...

Faceman.... top 3 Games are BF4,Crysis 3 and NFS Rivals. This PC should run all these games at 720p on Ultra settings.

Looks good.

I'd suggest a R9 270(x) over a GTX660 though. They shouldn't cost all that much more either (less than 10%).

this will offer you much better gaming performance and you don't have to worry about overclocking...it should also end up costing less or about the same as you dont have to get an aftermarket CPU cooler for it:

@User's Awards......R9 270X is full of artifacts and FPS drops.I could buy r9 280x but i am afraid of wasting my money on a faulty GPU with worse driver support.GTX 760 seems waste of money as both gtx 660 and gtx 760 are of Kepler architecture.Don't want to spend more money on GTX 770 or GTX 970 as i am not a hardcore gamer.I am a seasonal gamer.

not too sure where you get your info from but there are no problems with artifacts or amd drivers

the gtx780ti and gtx660 are both of kepler architechture... that isn't comparable.

gtx760 is about 30% faster than a 660

you havnt researched anything you've looked a biaised comments and reviews and fanboys opinions.

AMD is just as reliable as nvidia...and the 900 series cards are untouchable ATM...the 970 is the one to get it's the card that gives you the most for your money so there goes your missconseption #2 nvidia performance ATM is cheaper than AMD.

@i_build_nanosuits differences between r9 270x and gtx 660 are ignorable.I won't buy GTX 760 or R9 280x because my monitor supports 1280x1024 maximum. No intention to upgrade my monitor so buying GTX 760 or R9 280x would be overkill.I have been using Nvidia since 2009 and i think i am more comfortable with Nvidia!!!

@i_build_nanosuits yeah i know that r9 270x is faster. But that is not the case.I could buy r9 280x but didn't buy because of bad reviews. You can go to newegg.com and see that verified buyers are complaining about DOA,Artifacts,FPS drops etc.Which is rare in case of Nvidia.

So if you are suggesting r9 270x then tell me which manufacturer is better??? I heard that Sapphire doesn't make quality products anymore. It's 2014 not 2011.So give answers according to present time.Please....

i can't believe that some people still rely on those stupid sites to forge themselves an opinion!! havnt you noticed that 64% of the people that rated the vapor X R9-280x gave it a 5/5 stars note?

people who likes to complain and/or has got driver problems or other proplems with their PC that most of the time have nothing to do with the graphics card itself are the ones that fill up those...when everything is fine which is the case for 99% of the people who bought those cards they dont say a word about it...think of it for a minute...its ridiculous...get the one that give you the most performance for your money.

Sapphire is top of the line, vaporX is the best AMD available...tri-x is the cheaper version of this...still awesome.

then would comse MSI gaming (twin frozr) and gigabyte windforce.

Only ASUS has admitted having some difficulties with their recent AMD graphics cards.

AMD FX-8320
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 AMD 990
Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270X 2GB DDR5
Corsair 600CXV2
A DATA 4x2 GB DDR3 1600
Western Digital WD10EZEX-00RKKA0 1TB SATA Desktop HDD

So,my budget stops here. Can't go higher from this range. What should be changed if needed???? Remember my top priorities are BF4,Crysis 3 and NFS Rivals to run on Ultra  settings at 1280x1024 Resolution.

This run's a lot cooler and is much more energy efficient so you'll also save on your power bills and have a quieter system that you don't have to overclock for it to perform ''okay''...it's flawless out of the box.

because the cores of the intel haswell are about twice as fast as the ones on the FX-8320 and for games that's what gives you better performance...not how may cores you have but how fast they are.

The i5-4460 is a better cpu for gaming, hands down...regardless of the clockspeed...intel's architecture is years ahead of AMD

If you would do mainly video editing and rendering THEN the FX would be a better choice as those softwares can leverage more than 4 threads...but games typically dont.

CPUboss is terrible. The way it compares CPUs is just no good.

those sites should not even exist.
