Artifacts on my Monitor? GPU is fine..?

StareX

Meh... Issue fixed by tuning down OC settings.

Hi!

Last few weeks ago I cleaned my PC, fixed my airflow and on idle my GPU sits on 40C and my CPU on 45-50C .. which is great yeah?

Now, since I played CS GO and BF4 last few days, I've been seeing artifacts.. or however it's called, this little triangles flickering black symbols apearing on my screen and now, today 22nd of September it goes FULL ham, right? It literally bombed me! I failed on every shot I had, couldn't concentrate!

I've been checking temps, and CPU shows me 55-70C on CS GO.. yeah? and GPU shows me normal temps, 67-78C ..

What could be the issue? My DVI cable is connected probably and airflow is alright.. according to the temps and the info that I gave you now, everything seems to be just FINE... but what is this artifacts? this black stuff apearing on my screen? It's killing me!!

Try a different screen and cable.

If it still is happening that means its your graphics card.

I would say the same, try another cable. Also, you can try another port and plug it in there, giggity!

Temperatures do not dictate artifacting. Unstable clock speed causes artifacting. Try lowering the clock speed via MSI afterburner or similar and check to see if it is still happening. I don't mean decrease by 40MHz or something I mean 100-200MHz, just scrape that off and see if it still happens. Also check your monitor cable/monitor as @Enderman suggested. If it isn't the monitor then it's your GPU

Just because your temperature is low, it doesn't mean that it can't be the graphics card.

Did you have any artifacts before you cleaned out your rig? If not, when did they begin?

But first, try a different monitor and cable, just to rule those two out.

If it is the graphics card you should try resteating the card in the PCIe slot. Possibly try and clean the PCIe slot aswell.

If that doesn't help, try decreasing the clock speed of the card with 10-50MHz.

Artifacts come from the GPU. Try running FurMark to see what happens.

Nope.. I never OC'd my GPU and didn't OC my CPU although it's OC ready (with all the settings etc.. just need to change volts and clock ratio but I won't.. not good cooler.)

and it happened after I cleaned my PC, cuz it was too hot .. temps weren't right, so I cleaned it and now it looks fantastic.

I will try another monitor eh.. but I dont have another cable :|...

and my PC is really clean.. cleaned everything :P..

Did you clean the PC without touching components? And if you did, were you properly ESD protected? You might well have zapped a bit of VRAM.

I don't live in the US, I live in Israel.. we really have little electric charges floating in the air like there are any in the US, that is why we aren't using this ESD protection wrap.. Nahh, I cleaned my PC with toothpicks? However you call them with that white thing on them.. (Screw my English >:D)

and forgot to buy an Air Compressor but will soon to clean the rest of the parts that aren't really neccesary but not so beautiful due to the little dust on them.. cba to clean that.

I will try another monitor and Furmark.. to make sure

You can build up static electricity in many ways. Certain clothes, shoes, badly grounded PC case, rug, plastic objects, etc.

So it's always best practice to use a dissipative wristband or at least touch a grounded object first, just to be sure! :)

Furmark shows me more of this little black boxes flickering in my screen.. as the temps go up the black tiny boxes on the screen starts to flicker faster..

My GPU is getting too old now? bought it like in 2012, GTX 560 Ti at March ... around that time.

Driver issue also? Dunno.. I'll try to remove the drivers and reinstall them..

I srsly have no money to buy a GPU :(...

Yeah.. It sounds like the OC Gigabyte made for this card... the cooling isn't enough anymore, I downclocked it to 800Mhz, and the artifacts stopped apearing, when I switched it back to the regular 900Mhz, it gave me multiple black tiny boxes artifacts on my screen.. Gosh!!

I need a new GPU >_<......

Sigh, now whenever the GPU goes above 70C with the 900Mhz core clock, artifacts apear.. 70C-80C.

When I switched to the 800Mhz, it went above the 70C and it hit 90C(stopped it there) but no artifacts..

How to explain?
