Any good less intensive recorders out there except OBS?

So it turns out that OBS skips frames when I record Battlefield 3 on my laptop (specs below). It runs bf3 on high but can't record at the same time, same with medium.

 

Fraps will make it lag like arse

 

So anything I can do to record footage on a laptop w/ intensive games other than placing a sony camcorder in front of the screen?  :P

Try bandicam. You MIGHT have an H.264 acceleration option. Not sure if your GPU has that or not, it seems kind of old...

 

DXtory and Xsplit are also other options

is shadowplay on the mobile gpus, if so try that out, and quick sync may also be enable-able

I find my PC struggles sometimes with BF4 on high using shadowplay so unless you can find something like shadowplay that has very little impact but for the GT series then I can't see it happening with your GPU....  prove me wrong though....

For software based solutions, Bandicam or Dxtory with Lagarith Lossless Codec.

 

If you can afford it though I would recommend an AVerMedia ExtremeCap U3.

Only the GTX mobile cards

 

I'll look into Dxtory and XSplit

With such a low end laptop I would recommend getting an external device to do the recording.

Since a lot of people mentioned Bandicam and Dxtory ( both great with the right codecs ), I'm gonna say Action! Mirillis. With the latest version they finally fixed a few things and now it works great.

You can record your microphone and the system audio on 2 different channels ( you'll be able to edit your mic track and you won't need to go through the really annoying process of synchronizing everything ).

The performance hit is minimal and the video quality is great ( I'm using it right now for my Metro series ).

XSplit is even heavier than OBS. Try MSI Afterburnder instead.

EDIT: I GOT Obs to work without skipping frames

I had to set obs priority to high and it just worked
