Do waves of really low-scoring WUs happen regularly?

Past two mornings after my daily 8 hour folding session I noticed that after completing 3-4 WUs, my score barely moved (checked again before folding 16 hours after that it wasn't just a lack of update) without failing any units. So I have to conclude that I've been getting really parltry points like 8 WU in a row.

Does this happen often?

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

it really depends on your hardware and the wu you are working on. Depending on the client, there aren't that many different wu's you can receive, so keeping track of how the different wu's are is worthwhile. Lets you spot when something is acting up, if you go from core 17 wu's to core 16 for example, especially on a amd card there should be a very significant drop in points. So it can happen depending on the hardware and the wu, and sometimes you are stuck working on work units from the same type of project for a long time, you can easily end up getting the same wu's for a week or more.

Some wu's are smaller than others, you finish them quicker but receive alot less points per wu, i would probably try and google eta/tpf corresponding to your hardware if you are worried something isn't working as it should, check if the load is stable and check if you are getting bonus points and not just the base credit, but first of all you should check what core (project) you are working on.

I have no idea how F@H scoring works (or how anything works really  ), but I wonder if it has to do with the ratio of cpu to gpu folding that people are doing... Is it possible that in the event that a large number of projects are left unfinished and only have CPU WU's left, that the scoring for GPU WU's diminish on new projects?  I don't know how its all done exactly, but one would think there would be a standard for the size of a work unit vs. the points that it's worth? I understand there are varying complexities, but I pulled my spare 660 off of folding duty because its barely doing 15k ppd, while my 290 can chew through 180k ppd right now if I left it running 24/7, but lately they've all been 15k per WU and really tough for my 660 to work through. (I was getting some core 18 WU's on the 660 last week, which gave 50k ppd, but that only lasted for day or two). being new to folding, its all confuzzling to me still.

No, what is being done by one project, core or class (GPU/CPU) has no affect on points on others.. Points are determined prior as part of the project. You always get X base points for various completed WU's. Then depending on timing, you can get QRB points.

I would review your log, and you can see exactly how many points you are being awarded after you have completed uploading a WU. Make sure that jives with the updates.

I just wanted to chime in. I've been experiencing a similar problem with my 780Ti and 4770k. The past few days I was churning out 240k+, but this morning I noticed it was down to 70k. Nothing's changed with my hardware/drivers/load/frequenices. I've also checked the log and no failed WUs.

Normal... you just got some "hard" WU's :)

Okay. This makes me a feel a little better. I'm hoping the storm will pass sooner than later.
