Get EVGA ACX 2.0

This 2.0 cooler is notoriuosly loud and not as cool as other cards. But it is backed by the wonderful customer support.

TTL overview did not recommend the STRIX 900 GPU cards because of the larger heatpipe

and wide PCB from the DCUII coolers would hit the side panels:

time stamp - 4:00 comes the 'splaination.

I'm in the exact same position as the OP. The question for me however is not "Is it recommended?", it's "Will it fit?" :D

My R9 270 fits with room to spare, and it's 256x127x34 mm according to the MSI.

The specs page on the ASUS website says Strix 970 is 280x140x40 mm, meaning it's only 13 mm higher than my card.

My MSI card is 13-14 from the top of the case, which means it's going to be a tight squeeze even it it's going to fit.

Please post if you manage to fit it in, Thomas :)

Hey guys, I did the math and it fixs. :D

Please let us know how well it fits when you get it.

I've just ordered the same card for my soon-to-be built 250D. But it may take a while because there's no stock on Amazon. Hopefully the 10mm heatpipe doesn't touch the case. And the 8pin power connector may be cutting it close too.

Yeah please let us know if it fits, I am going for a branded build, in my 250d if it doesn't fit I will be looking at an ACX 2.0.

Also 1rishPredator how much did yours cost posted to Brisbane if you don't mind me asking? I need to work out where to get mine from (going to Singapore next month but pricing there looks similar to Australia) Thanks!
