this is misleading.

It implies that salt water is the actual fuel, but it's just an electrolyte in which the energy is held.

it still needs to be charged from an electrical source.

considering that electric motors are far more precise and have ASSLOADS more torque and acceleration than a standard internal combustion engine, it's really not surprising. If they didn't have to worry about battery life or anything, they could probably achieve a whole hell of a lot more.

 

That being said, I still prefer internal combustion, I just love that sound, to me electric cars are boring regardless of how fast/cheap they might become. I like the mecanical feel of driving a gasoline powered car, and the roar of a V8 engine. I wouldn't mind if they found a renewable source of fuel for those (not just ethanol for various reasons, it gums your engine up, doesn't have a high enough octane rating so it's less efficient than standard gasoline, and wears on the motor more).

Sea salt water is not a problem, only fresh water is so they aren't doing any harm.

Because for me SUVs are one if the worst cars. Large car but tiny interiors(I can't fit in the back seat), small boot, bad fuel economy, there's nothing off-road about them(just as bad on gravel as other cars and usually two wheel drive so not much better on snow either.

Looks great, the acceleration is amazing though if its accurate. 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds D: Impressive. that places is some place between the 17th and 25th fastest car in the world (0-60 times that is) putting it into the Koenigsegg Trevita, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Aventador and Lamborghini Gallardo territory. Colour me impressed

That combined with the 920hp of the car are amazing - imagine the power of this with the reduced weight and smaller size of tomorrow's cars. Flow cells could be the future of automobiles, this car solves almost all of the problems that electric cars have nowadays (except weight and pricetag).
