Minecraft coming to Windows Phone

In a tweet sent to Microsoft's Xbox chief, Phil Spencer, the tweeter asked if Minecraft will be coming to Windows Phone. Phil Spencer replied with a simple "Yes"

 

I curious how this will effect the Window's Phone market for younger users. With a large and popular title like Minecraft coming to Windows Phone, parents might be more likely to get a windows phone for their kids.

I can't even believe that MS Phone still exists. I have tried it and I don't like it.

great news for those 5 people that own a WP

HEY, I'll have you know I own a lumia 610!

And I a very proud owner of completely defective product!

 

In all seriousness I could see this being popular on WP, considering how the selection of games on the store is so small this could well be the most popular one.

 

EDIT: I am just wondering which WP OS's this will work on. I know for a fact the windows phone 7 is not going to get it. That would be my phone...

The amount of people buying Windows Phone is little to nothing compared to Android and iOS. Their going to earn little to nothing putting it on the Windows phone....

Mods man, mods. That's when you download stuff like ftb launcher to get access to many mod packs, agrarian skies (for example) which gives quests, missions, goals. You start on a small platform with a tree and from that your build everything you need. Or many other mod packs that make the game totally different, but so much added variety, it really changes the game. Download ftb launcher and find a modpack that sounds like you would like and you'll love it if you're willing to try and learn it. :D

I never owned the full version, I used the free one that didn't allow 64Bit java. Needless to say I couldn't use all the mods I wanted. Then later the FPS would drop to 10 without any mods, 5min of playing and then the FPS would just drop. Nothing helped, and it wasn't a RAM or heat issue. Lets just say I have no interest in the game what so ever anymore, no mod is going to make it interesting anymore.

I am a happy member of that crowd I will have you know. Does everything I've asked of it, still in mint condition after almost 2 years, and you know what? I like the OS better than android. Every time I use an android I feel like it's just overcomplicated.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Actually it's getting updates pretty regularly, and is quite fun now. Latest terrain, and with infinite world's. Needs redstone though, and enchanting.

Actually I don't use anything, just some cooked onions, baked potato, and the juice from the pan the steak was cooked in. Android has never impressed me in any way, it feels more like a PDA than a phone, whereas W8 feels like a phone. Which is what I want, and use it for, make calls, take calls, send and receive texts, check the news (google news), google search, and play my music.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Usually somewhere between rare and medium rare, with my own personal marinade.

as a WP owner, i can say i'm not going to get this, minecraft on mobile is a terrible experience, don't know why people buy it...
