Noctua Nh-d14 power consumption

Go to solution Solved by Shaqo_Wyn,

This is kind of a dumb question. I'm looking at this page-

http://www.noctua.at/pdf/infosheets/noctua_nh_d14_datasheet_en.pdf

Under input power it says 1.08 watts but it just seems strange to me that such a massive thing as that cooler only needs that much. Is that number variable at all?

The fans at the max RPM (12V) will draw 2.28W, it says so in the data sheet. Just add up the W's.

That's for the fans. The heatsink itself doesn't use electricity.

Depends on how fast the fans are spinning but fans don't draw that much electricity in the first place...

The actual heatsink itself is a hunk of metals (mainly, to keep it simple), that's it. The fans are the only things that require power.

Your PC case is even bigger but doesn't use any power either, eh? It's just the fan. 1-3W sounds reqlistic.

who cares...
