Budget SSD

I'm buying my first SSD soon, I will mainly be using it as a boot drive with a WD black as mass storage. I know the budget kingston drives use cheap asynchronous nand and are slow so what other drive should I buy? I was looking at this PNY SSD but honestly I don't know if I should get it or a sandisk SSD.

I'd spend the extra $5 and get an Intel 520. They're pretty solid.

I'd also seriously consider shelling out the extra $30 for a 240gb MX100.

I would recommend saving up some more and getting a 256GB SSD because it isn't that much more plus you would get better speeds. @Rye Cribby Tree

Is it better than some newer options at a similar price point? Seeing as it's a 2 year old drive.

They also have refurbed Corsair drives for $10 more with twice the capacity if you're not against such things.

 

Honestly though chances of you noticing any difference are slim to none as long as you don't go for the Crucial drives in lower capacities; their write speeds drop right off if you go below 256gb.

MX100 and nothing else (well maybe adata and sandisk)

Samsung has issues (with evo) everything else is pretty much sandforce, so garbage.
