Exhaust on Corsair H100i

striker1010

Hi Everyone,

I had a question in regards to setting up a H100i on a Corsair 500r case as a top exhaust. Basically, my plan is to -

  • Front 2x 120mm Fans as intake
  • Side 1x 200mm Fan as intake (Additionally help provide cool air to the EVGA GTX 970 that I plan to add)
  • Bottom (Plan to add) 1x 120mm as intake.
  • Then:
  • Rear 1x 120mm as exhaust.
  • Top 2x 120mm pushing air through the H100i radiator as exhaust.

I am a little concerned as far as cooling goes since I will essentially be exhausting hot air through the radiator which is meant to cool the cpu. Any feedback on this will be greatly appreciated setting the top as intake doesn't make sense either since hot air RISES so top and rear fans as exhaust makes the most sense.

It should be fine since that is the common setup for most h100s and nobody compains . Also since you have so many intakes, there will most likely be an abundance of cold air coming in so hot air wont be much of  an issue.

It'll be fine. At the most you'll see a 3-5C increase in CPU temps. And you have a ton of intakes, so you should be fine.

Positive air pressure inside the case is ALWAYS better than 1-2 degrees on cpu temp ,keeping dust out and all . If you're really worried , get a blower style gpu cooler , which exhausts out the back leaving cpu temps ok
