It depends on every unit itself if it has coil whine . If you get a coil whiny one , its a reason to RMA it .

There's no remedy for coil whine; just hope you don't get a unit that has any.

Coil whine affects every PSU line, but the AX Series is known for a higher than normal incidence. They haven't fixed it. On the plus side, if your AX860 has coil whine you can RMA it and they may replace it with AX860i.
