How good are the new Noctua Redux Fans ?

Dive5885

So as most of you know I'm planning on getting a new set of fans for my case.

I Came across NCIX US and saw they had a deal on Noctua Redux fans.

Now Is it worth getting them ?

I don't know anything about Noctua Fans so I need your honest opinions!

Also how do they compare to the other Brand fans ?

Please let me know!

Thanks!

The redux fans are different material and dont come with all the bells and whistles. They are perfoemance wise just as good as the regular models.

So would you go with them or would you recommend some other fans to get ?

I am sorta looking for getting the best airflow from the fans.

They are a cut back version (older) of the NF-F12 and the new Industrial PPC fans, they are pretty well regarded and have good performance and value especially after that deal, just be careful of what you are getting cause the 140mm is pressure optimized while the 120mm is airflow optimized.

Wow I didn't notice that the 140mm was pressure optimized.

I guess I should go with all 120mm Fans then ?

It depends on the application if you are using them on heatsinks and radiators, or in front of hard drive cages, it's a good idea to use the pressure optimized 140mm if possible, the 120mm are ideally used for free air flow in and out of the case, so they won't perform very well on restrictive airflow situations.

Material is the same (fibre-glass reinforced PBT), see http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=noctua_product_lines&setlng=en

Thought they said they had to use cheaper or something but if thats the caee the price is more acceptable.

I'm looking for Free air flow! Move air in and move air out

The setup would be like this.

Also I removed all the Hard Drive cages but Two and my CPU Cooler is a low profile styled cooler not sure how well that will play with the fan setup...

From the looks of things the top can mount either 140mm or 120mm fans, I would personally go with the 140mm pressure fans where ever possible since the gain of using a 120mm airflow fan is not very much especially since they only run at 700RPM.

So to sum it up.

2 : 140mm Redux Pressure fans on top & 3 : 120mm Redux Air flow ?
