Help! Ping Spikes (Jumps) From 30 to 1000 and eaven 3000

McJokerr

Here is the problem till this last ISP i've never had any issues what so ever with my internet and go i changed to a new one faster better lower ping it was all cool until this happened started playing Dota 1 (watcraft 3).

My ping was fine for the first 2-3 games and then started jumping from 20 to 1000 eaven to 30000 in some cases it went back to 30 but other times it stays at 120-300 never went under 100 and i got frustrated thinking it will change seams like not it kept going for 5 days i called my isp a technician came changed my internet dish made it face another direction.

Same shit happened first game was ok second it started jumping again this time from 60 to 500 so i shutted down skype spotify the ping never went below 100 here is a secreenshot from a test i did to an italian site because i live in italy.... http://postimg.org/image/q540wnc1d/ this is after he made the dish face the other direction.

And this is before he turned the dish http://postimg.org/image/p2tz6vszp/ you tell me...

Here are the things i tried:
1:Reinstall-Uninstall Drivers/Update/Rollback but it didn't work my brother was having the same problem we both are connected via ethernet i tried the wi-fi same stuff.

2:I tried resetting the router multiple times setting it back to default settings notthing worked.

3:The only Pc connected to the internet is my own until night time when my parents and my brother come home and they use theire pc but the ping still remains the same.

So sometimes i love my internet for the speed and upload and the ping avg at 20 but when it starts jumping it's so frustrating i want to just crush it beat it down until it can't blink  if anyone i say again ANYONE knows how to fix this stuff please comment it's really frustrating.

Is it only happening to your computer, can you try others.

So from the sounds of it you are on satellite? If so I hate to break it to you but there is nothing you can do about it. Satellite is just inherently inferior when it comes to latency. You can regularly expect to see 500+ ping on satellite.

Sorry man but other pople have the same ISP and they are getting very low latency... and btw it dosn't happen only on my pc it happens to every device connected to it if you just browse the internet watch videos you won't notice it but in games it's really frustrating my ISP says it's somekind of interference problem i don't know wtf that is

Well can you atleast answer the original question of whether the internet is satellite or not? You mention he adjusted a dish? Are you just talking about the wifi router, or an actual satellite dish?

Sounds like you are on satellite internet which is prone to massive lag spikes, as they are prone to interference from just about anything, mainly weather. Even if clouds form up higher than you can see, but they are tall and full of moisture (about to rain) that'll jack up your signal. A plane flying over head can also very briefly, albeit rarely do the same. From the dish to your router though, the interference can be caused by something like a microwave (on cheap routers), to the usual of cordless phones and baby monitors. Depends on the frequency your router operates at (assuming you are on wireless).

My question clearly says i'm using ethernet to connect and yes it is a sattelite dish but pointet at a near radio antena from witch it recives the signal.

1) I said assuming

2) No need to get snippy like that when I'm trying to help. Perhaps think next time I missed that point.

Regardless of that, even if it's the nearest antenna, it still needs to be a clear line of sight, and it's still prone to shit tons of intereference. Needless to say, expect high ping spikes, and days where your ping will be fine. That is the nature of satellite internet.
