Open headphones: Sennheiser HD518, Pioneer SE-A1000

Closed headphones: CHC Silverado, Audio-Technica ATH-M40x

+ ModMic or Zalman ZM-MIC1 for a clip-on mic, Blue Snowball or Snowflake for a desk mic.

 

You can always browse the audio sub-forum to see what other headphones people recommend. Generally speaking headphones are much higher quality than headsets. HyperX Cloud, as recommend above, is the best headset currently, though. Qpad QH-90 is the same and Qpad also offers open version, the QH-85.

Got the QH-85 myself and it's very good. Also very comfortable so yh.. get the cloud/qh-90/qh-85
