Way to bypass proxy server?

Hello everyone!

 

I'm looking for a way to bypass the proxy server of my school. Before anyone says anything like "shut up and learn" I want to mention my school is a boarding school and this internet is also used in my spare time. And it's just the most annoying crap to not be able to 'check' steam or other 'inappropriate websites' after you're done with courses, studying and such. I don't necessary want to game or something (my laptop is to crap anyway), but I've got a lot of friends who often need my help during weekdays and unfortunately this is something my school won't understand. Also the direction decided that any laptops with OSX and phones with android or IOS running won't have any support to use internet any more (that's not really my problem cause I use a windows laptop, would make me a hero if I came with a solution though xD).

 

But anyhow.

Does anyone knows how to bypass a proxy server, then just leave a comment :D

I heared a VPN could help me but unfortunately I'm totally unfamiliar with these kind of computer stuffs, would love to learn about it though.

The literal easiest way to do it is download a browser based proxy. I use one called "Ultrasurf" for chrome to bypass my schools to watch Twitch after I am done working.

what boarding school as i have experience as i went to one too and we had a similar problem accept that you had a mac address certificate that differentiated teacher from student

Ultrasurf was one of a few method students at my old high school used to use to bypass the NYCDOE restriction but VPN will definitely work because one of my Networking teachers had a private VPN set up and I was always on it doing whatever I need to do at the time...

I'm from Belgium so don't think you can help me there. But here as well we all have our own code and limitations are restricted by year like: when you have access and I think teachers don't have any restrictions.

as other people suggested it's rather the restrictions instead of a server and in that case you can download the chrome hulu addon or for the PC you can use hotspotshield

It's an extra reason yes. 

One of my friends downloaded his 64GB ipad full with it :S

I used Ultrasurf for a while before my school was able to get rid of it. Then I used Tor for a while but I stopped because of things I heard like, "The government watches over it" but I think thats impossible since the premise of Tor is to navigate the web without anyone being able to tell where you are. Oh well, search for proxies try to download Tor, Ultrasurf, Spotflux stuff like that

Didn't need to download anything. We just had to edit the lan-settings to use a proxy server for the LAN-network.

No... there is a google chrome extension. However the server you connect to might be blocked.

Usually they'll block web proxies. Try OpenVPN, set up a server in your home. If you have the necessary knowledge it'll be a piece of cake, and so long as you're the only one using it you can enjoy relatively fast browsing. Steam won't work though, the ping on this thing is gonna be outrageous (like ~500ms), but if the school has a good download speed and your home has both good up and download speeds you can get a nice connection. Just remember, the VPN is only as fast as the slowest connection.

 

If it's a log in based system, try using keyloggers to get some teacher's accounts.

 

If all else fails, Google Translate is a good option.
