Looking for a new Headset, Need Advice

C_Mike

So I currently have a speedlink medusa nx 5.1.

But, when no sound is playing, if I have all the volumes up to full, it seems to buzz a bit, and there is some  background noise.

I'm now looking to buy a new headset, but this time with a slightly higher budget, up to £100, £120 at a push if its a really good headset that lots of people can vouch for.

I'm currently looking at the Razer Black Shark, Roccat Kave xtd, ASUS Strix Pro, Razer Tiamat, Sennheiser PC 320, 330 and 323D.

Does anyone have any experience with these headsets or can you suggest any other alternatives?

Any help would be appreciated.

*edit*

A removable mic/mic mute button would be nice as well.

Also they must be over-ear not on-ear

And I don't care whether is open or closed back.

Are Razer "gaming" headsets worth their money in terms of sound quality and all that stuff?

"Nope, said the engineer"

Do not take the Roccat Kave. It sucks.

I guess go with the HyperX Cloud

I would say I had a very negative experience with a Razer headset, mic volume was woeful, sound was average, uncomfortable and poor build quality/robustness.

It only cost me $80 though

80$ i bet its the Razer Electra.

As i was foolish enough 2 months ago i bought razer electra, knowing the desc. had a "detachable mic" i went ago and since I CANT LOOK INTO THE BOX i bought it for 80$. Now i smashed it into the ground asking for the warranty and they replaced me with another electra rather than a refund or another headset switch. OBVIOUSLY NO RAZER

I'd go for HyperX CLOUD  by far Razer is the worst. final comment for razer... Now im waiting to buy a hyperx cloud or a k70 rgb for my bday tomorrow

Does anyone have any experience with any of the Sennheiser Headsets.

Tried one on Tech Convention here in indonesia, theyre great but design to watch movies, hear songs, or even editing songs. Yes, they could be used for gaming but i REALLY recommend HyperX Cloud. the one i tried was Sennheiser HD 558...? i think, no doubt better than shitty razer

In general, all headsets suck. When we're recommending headsets, we're here to pick out the ones that don't. I wouldn't touch any Razer headsets.

BTW, HD558 isn't a headset, it's just a normal headphone.

No.

OT: Just got a Corsair V2100, audio quality is good, everything is clear and sounds well balanced. Quality is a concern for corsair headsets though. Frankly, I just needed a wireless solution badly, I've annihilated my front jack about 6 times from walking away with headphones plugged in still. Not using the Mic though I have a Snowball for that.

*update* so I Bought a Hyperx Cloud headset, and I'm very impressed already. Very comfortable, good quality, great packaging and a nice array of wires and accessories to work with practically anything.
