Server MB Front IO

Hi,

I was installing an Intel server motherboard S5520HC but can't figure out how to connect the network activity / network link LEDs to the front io on the motherboard as there are no positive pins. I'm installing it in a custom case so the front panel connector would likely be different from the intended case it's meant to be installed in.

I have attached the diagram of the front io, any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The thing is these are two completely different LEDs.

  • NIC ACT - Activity of the network card when traffic is occuring
  • NIC Link - When the cable is plugged in

or so is my understanding of the diagram.

I think the network led modules on server racks puts all the grounds to one pin. I could be wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.
