Windows 7 ult only showing 3.9gb out of 8gb usable

don

I am seeing all 8gb and correct timings in cpuz and also tried the msconfig fix but nothing happens.

Is it 32 bit or 64 bit Windows?

The solution would be to install 64-bit Windows, as it is able to assess the extra RAM.

I think you might have bought/installed a 32 bit version of windows. 32 bit versions of windows are only capable of using 4gb of ram.

Well, then this becomes a different issue.

 

Both modules are being recognized but only 1 is usable. Have you tested them independent of each other?

Yea both sticks work, using corsair 1600mhz ddr3 lp vengance and an asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 board.

wth guys dont know what happened but windows is seeing all 8gb now after messing around with the ram funny thing is they are in the same dim slots.
