Is my Build compatible With OS X

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

well OS X yosemite when it comes out

Alright.

What you need:

MacBook (check)

PC (check)

Extra HDD/SSD

8GB or higher USB flash drive

256MB (i.e. aincent) or higher USB flash drive

So here is how it works:

Preface: Make sure you have BIOS 1205 and that the motherboard is set to Boot > Secure Mode > Other OS.

1. You need to go to the App Store on the MacBook and login. Download the most recent version from OS X from the Purchased section (as I presume you own it.)

2. When it is finished, make an account at http://www.tonymacx86.com/. Excellent website with all of the tools you will need to do this.

3. Download UniBeast and MultiBeast. Put MultiBeast on the flash drive for the proper version of OS X (this is very important later on.)

4. Open UniBeast with the 8GB+ drive plugged in. Run the program, select the proper prompts (You do not need laptop support or Legacy USB support) and let it install. It will take a little while.

5. When finished, it is time to play on the PC. Unplug all SATA HDD/SSD/ODDs except for the drive you want to install OS X on. Put in the flash drive and boot off of it.

6. Boot with the -v and GraphicsEnabler=No flags.

7. Go through the install process, format the HDD/SSD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) by accessing Disk Utility instead of going to hit Continue.

8. Boot into OS X on the HDD/SSD. Get the other flash drive and open MultiBeast. Use the following flags (should work fine, if not tell me and I will do some further research. Add in 1080p screen, as it is not specified here.

98472d1405174610-tonymacx86s-asus-test-b

9. Install, reboot and it should be finished.

so when OS X yosemite comes out i plan to buy another SSD or Hard Drive and want to dual boot it and i don't know if my parts are compatible so my Build is attached to this post.

also i saw on tonymacx86 that the Z97-A is compatible but i don't know about my Z97-AR any help would be appreciated.

that asus board will require some work.

If it is anything like the Z97-A (in which the AR is based off of, I believe the only difference is the heatsink color), it shouldn't be too difficult.

Here is the MultiBeast configuration for a Z97-A.

No problem.

So, the first question I need to know is if you currently own or have easy ccess to a Mac for at least as long as it would take to download 6GB of files?

Alright.

What you need:

256MB (i.e. aincent) or higher USB flash drive
