iOS 8 Released- Update Now!

Guest

I'm not going to make the same mistake I did with IOS 7. I'll wait for the feedback first then update if necessary. IOS 7 fucked my 4S's wifi.

Somehow, my 4S is faster on 8!

BUT, DONT RESTORE OR UPDATE OTA. I tried both of these, and they were slow. Go through iTunes, and for some reason, the OS feels faster that way.

What? Lmao

@linusforsell I'm doing it through itunes, works fine.

I wouldn't touch iTunes even with a 10ft stick.  :P

Its not like we use our iOS devices for anything anyway, just for testing builds for clients once in a while... ^^

Cheers,

Linus

why would it matter if its OTA or not? Unless youre referring to the download time, in which case I wouldnt be surprised.

"Unable to check for Updates"

Just what I expected from Apple; Not even their servers are running good quality software for load balancing.

I haven't tried OTA, because I updated to the GM last night. But, just keep trying. Millions of downloads at once can bog the best of servers!

Nope, but TBH it wouldn't run very well on an iPhone 4.

I've seen that the 4s gets a little slower with iOS 8. But that's kind of expected. That's probably the last updates it receives anyway. Plus you can feel that the 4s is the last 3.5" device to get it. There's some places where you're missing the extra space...

I'm not sure, but I tried OTA, and it was just sluggish- the OS.

As for downloads, I have heard about any issues with it yet. Download it quick before all the high school kids start to find out :P

Yeah, that's as expected. Still happy to see Apple supporting the older devices though, even though they of course have their own agenda to fufill.

What's with the iTunes hate though

For a lot of people, they just don't like it.

What I will say is that I am so happy to not have to use it anymore with my new phone (M8). It isn't a bad music player, but the idea that I have to sync my device to a library that is only on a single PC of mine is annoying.

Been using the Beta but will update when I have time. Seems like they're making a big deal over features other phones have had for a long time, predictive text being one of them.

While I do have an iPad mini I don't think I will update it. I didn't even update it to iOS 7 because I still find that look abhorrent.

If there is anything I like about Apple, it's that they support older devices thoroughly with software updates.

My dad's ipad one. I would really like Ios 7 on it.

It is more than 4 years old, and it comprises of a single core CPU with 256MB RAM. As much as it would be nice, it would not run well with the added screen resolution.

I know. I just wish I had a decent tablet to use as an efb. My $89 pile of crap tablet isn't worth the space it occupies.  I need an EFB.
