Folding on Multiple GPUs Nvidia/AMD?

Go to solution Solved by Whaler_99,

So, mileage will vary. My attempt to get it running failed most likely due to older models. Other people have got AMD and NVidia running in same system. Main thing, installed latest drivers for both. Then cross fingers. :)

You won't know till you try.

Hey everyone

So I am currently about to get back into folding and I have a HD 7950 and I am about to get a GTX 780Ti as a gift from a friend. Now I want to know if I can get folding working on both in the same system? Referring to Whalers post here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/53402-amd-or-nvidia-why-not-both/?p=717383

He was unable to get it working and I was wondering if it has been solved in an update?

Also just wanted to as if a TX750w would be enough for a Stock clocked i5 3570K, Stock clocked HD 7950 & GTX 780Ti? I know it's going to be borderline.

Found this on the F@H forum: Anyone want to try it :P

i ran my 7970 and 670 folding in the same rig for a couple of weeks. i've separated them now though because you can't control the fan speed and clocks of the gpu that is driving the display. i have both amd and nvidia drivers on both my rigs

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

I've had 7970's coexisting with 680s used 680 as display driver, no problems, I installed the 680's 1st then the amd cards.  So I guess a variety of setups are possible, but I imagine that some drivers and generations of cards may not play nice together.
