New Core 18 WUs?

So I jumped on my PC to notice how my GTX 580 was doing in FAH. And I saw this.

bCv4Q.png

a spooky Core 18 WU. what is this

Usually my 580 would get around 30K-40K PPD, but now it's getting 50K with this WU.

Download the FAH client from their website, it pretty much auto sets itself up.

Make yourself an ID + passkey and fold for the LTT team :)

I can get ~150K PPD out of my 7950 so you should get more from a 290.

My GPU is still on the Core 17 WU, maybe 18 is something nvidia specific?

The badge? You contact whaler_99 via pm when you've done 21 work units (that's more than you think :P) my gpu takes a full day to do a work unit

OK. From what i can tell folding is like giving your pc's power for special causes? or am i completely off

How do i join the ltt team?

Pretty much, you use compute power to fold protiens and such which contributes towards medical research, you can set a preference between cancer, parkinsons etc or just do "random" workloads.

To join the team you just put the team number (in the sticky- 223518) in the box when setting up an id when you launch f@h client for the first time

If you left that folding 24/7 you could easily rise to be in the top 25 for our team. From what I've seen it would produce somewhere around 135-165k PPD. Efficiency-wise (PPD/Watt), its not as good as a 780 TI or a bunch of 750 TIs, but it's still pretty nice.

I want to start folding, but for teams I'm kinda torn there's the LTT team, but I've also seen that Asus ROG has one too so...yeah

You don't want to join them, their team doesn't have much going for them. The LTT Team is flying up the ranks and doing nothing but growing while the ROG team's progress is slowing down and they are actually dropping down in the ranks. Join the LTT team and help us in our journey to the top. I honestly think that with the rate at which we are growing we may even rise to challenge the likes of Folding@EVGA and Curecoin. :D

Core18 is an improved version of Core17 that uses that latest and greatest features from OpenMM. This core is available only for Win32.

These are Core18 projects for Win32 NVIDIA only. The projects are similar to projects 10466-10469, but using core18.

Hmm sorry little noob here :)

I'm runing Windows 64 bit and i have just reasenly get this "FahCore 0x18" after i installed my new GTX 980 over my old HD7970 and after that GPU PPD is around 83000ppd.

If for some miracle i get 0x17 then GPU PPD jumps to around 300000PPD so i ges my pc works fine and 0x18 is just beter for older card or what?

If for some miracle i get 0x17 then GPU PPD jumps to around 300000PPD so i ges my pc works fine and 0x18 is just beter for older card or what?

might be the case. I was folding with a spare 660 a while back and core 18 WU's gave excellent ppd, much more than core 17 WU's

If it aint driver(344.75) issue, then is there away to left these cores/projects for those, who benefits them more?

you can't really cherry pick wu's in any way, shape or form.

Most you can do is to enable/disable advanced and beta flag.

i'm not familiar with those wu's so i don't know if they are

running slower on your computer compared to others.

But i don't think it's a big issue if you are running everything

else fine.

It might just have been a bad wu.
